award acceptance and setup

To start the process of legal review, the following items need to be completed and sent to the Director of Grants Management:

1. Award Letter/NOA;

2. A written confirmation from Principal Investigators/ Program Directors (PI/PD) to review the award letters/NoAs and to state any feedback and concerns or approval;

3. The completed Legal Review Checklist and send to the Director of Grant Management.

Legal review takes at least 10 business days starting from the submission date.

After the preceding procedures, a recommendation will be sent from the General Counsel (GC). If GC approves the terms and conditions, ORG will forward the agreement to the Authorized Signer to obtain the approval signatures. If GC needs to negotiate with the sponsor on terms and conditions, ORG will coordinate any needed actions. If most legal considerations are being taken into account during the pre-award stage, less unfavorable recommendations will be given.
